Another Lone Star Emmy was for our ongoing investigations into failures in the state program meant to help victims of violent crimes. We uncovered that the state wasn't accurately reporting how slowly payments were reaching victims.

Two Lone Star Emmy Awards were for our investigations into a deadly hospital crash - how it’s not uncommon, safety solutions that aren’t standard, and the role of lobbyists. Thank you to the Bernard family for sharing their story with us, which helped lead to a new Austin safety law.

Twenty years in local news last month. Four Lone Star Emmy Awards last night. Grateful to do this work - from hospital safety reporting that changed an Austin law to exposing problems with the crime victims’ fund - it’s an honor to tell stories that matter with an incredible team.
