Did a master in Social Sciences at UC3M. Now doing a PhD at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide.

Trying to figure out something about political parties, referenda, national identities... that kind of stuff.

A chess player by passion, not by talent or skill.
I was on this completely lost position (pictured left), kept playing out of spite and a few moves later stumbled upone this mate in four position (pictured right) and I think that winning this way made me happier that if I had just won a normal and well deserved victory.

Just found myself here. White (me) to move. Whats the best and only none losing move and how certain are you that you would have played during a game?

Yet, if I follow the engine line after that, I get to this other drawn postion. So, all things considered, I don't know how to win this but then neither does stockfish.

Then we are in this position (ignore the green arrow), there are no more checks and no way of preventing the promotion of the d pawn, and, since you can't defend the f2 pawn, the position is lost.

So I have to deviate from my idea and after 1. Kc5 Kb3 2. h4 Kc3 take with 3.Kxcd5.

I took a not very deep look at the Spanish data some time ago, and it does look like the gender gap suddenly appears in 2019, which does coincide with the electoral emergence of the far right.

I wonder whether there are such abrupt changes in other countries.

This actually poses a relevant question which I honestly don't know how to answer.

How do we put forward the results of empirical research to a media environment that is completely fascinated with the narratives that the far right tells about it self and simply does not want to snap out of it?
