I believe 138, but you don’t play them all, and you don’t go in numerical order. I’m guessing I’m 2/3-3/4 done. I got it for Christmas in 2024 so I’ve been plugging away for over a year.

You don’t need to buy any expansions for Spirit Island, and the base game is a good game but the expansions make it shine and become a “life style” game which for me became the main game I’ve played for over a year. Endless combos with spirits and their aspects playing against the adversaries.

Also the stand alone game Horizons of spirit island adds some good spirits but the components aren’t as good. You can buy the spirits separately if you want. Finally feather and flame gives you 4 ok spirits and one of my favorite adversaries.

Branch and claw is now available on Amazon. This is the expansion you want to start with since it introduces events and tokens. Jagged earth is great and should be your second but not available, nature incarnate is good and available, but you should get the other 2 first.

Not a typo, and they may get into it in season 4, or just combine them to make it simpler. They are the fox and snakes from the board game in season 3 episode one. I’ll avoid book spoilers, but in the book they are different species.

I’ve also heard that aeon’s end is good, however if you want the best fan ranked solo game then go with Spirit Island. It is a heavier game, but with its expansions there’s endless combinations you can play between spirits and adversaries. It’s the best game I’ve ever played and prefect for solo.

I’ve played both Azul and Ticket to Ride and both are good for those new to gaming. Another game a lot of new and experienced gamers like is Wingspan. The Dice Tower is a great resource to review games. Also feel free to message me about any game. I love when new people join the board gaming world.

All the expansions are good, and I’d say jagged earth is the best, however you should get branch and claw first. It only gives you 2 new spirits, but importantly it introduces tokens and event cards, both which change some of the game mechanics and are needed for the other expansions.

I got Spirit island for X-mas last year & not stopped playing it since. It’s a perfect solo game. Base game is good, but the expansions make the game shine. There’s a learning curve to figure out mechanics, but learning different spirits & playing against different adversaries is very enjoyable.
