I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here. The person I replied to was questioning how foreign aid is in the US's interests. I'm saying pulling back on foreign aid will mean an opportunity for US adversaries to increase their influence around the world.

It's not free money. It comes with lots of strings. Global powers bribe small countries to side with them. The US has decided not to pay anymore. Presumably that means China and Russia will find a lot more homes for their naval bases, votes for their side in hltge UN/WTO/ILO etc etc
