I do think the line between the sublime melodies of Manilow and those of the Mary Chain is shorter than is generally acknowledged. And Mandy is a GREAT song - and I’ll fight anybody who says it’s not.

First album I ever bought - and don’t think I could have chosen a better one.

My mum delights in telling people that my first album was ACTUALLY Barry Manilow’s Greatest Hits (on the TellyDisc label) but that was actually a gift from them to me - that I may or may not have requested for Christmas.

(Oh - and make having manners a thing again while we’re at it)
