I'm interviewing director Melissa Fisher for her short film "Buscando Alma" this afternoon, I thought the short film was fantastic and it's going to be eligible at the Oscars for Best Live Action Short Film... Stay tuned for the interview!

31 Days Of Horror starts tonight with TERRIFIER 2! I've been doing this for the past 7 years and it's all first time watches, all month!

So I didn't hate Expend4bles but they make it very hard for us to defend it with its infantile sense of humor, the lack of chemistry between every single character on screen and the fact that they take the audience for imbeciles. I enjoyed when it turns into "Statham On A Boat". It has its moments.

Tonight's flick... I might regret it...

Something impressive about itis how much is being told with very little dialogue and Dever does a lot of the heavylifting there, but also a big props to Duffield behind the camera for keeping the movie stressful from start to finish. Very odd structure too which I loved.

Kaitlyn Dever can't catch a break and gives it all in this nasty nail biting alien invasion flick. The same feeling as being trapped in a nightmare that you can't escape, the title says it all: NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU. The score by Joseph Trapanese was a huge highlight as well.

Behold, the visionary Gareth Edwards is back and he went to work with THE CREATOR one of the most visually stimulating experience of the year with impeccable sound design & world-building, a strong message on humanity and artificial intelligence, a real treat for sci-fi lovers.

If everything goes well I'm seeing #TheCreator on Friday and I'm hyped after seeing the early reactions. Seems like Gareth Edwards made an awesome sci-fi movie.

Is it your first time? I don't want to overhype it but this one REALLY worked for me and instantly became a favorite of mine when I saw it.

Meredith Hagner (Kyla) is the clear standout of those films to me, she brings a certain energy that this sequel definitely needed. I like her chemistry with John Cena too and it's clear that without her this wouldn't work at all. I don't mind spending time with those characters.

VACATION FRIENDS 2 was decent, it has that light breezy vacation vibe but it's nothing particularly special or great. Good friday night/weekend watch, it's something you can put on while doing your Sunday laundry and clean-up which is not the highest compliment I can give.

I'm talking about PAST LIVES in this new video on my Youtube channel, enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA2Z...

It still carries that "been there, done that" feeling that we've been seeing in most superhero origin story which is not to the film's benefit but it has its own personality which I could appreciate. The moonlight night sky and cotton candy color palette was energizing.

I had fun with #BlueBeetle... they manage to overcome the banality and predictability of superhero movies with a high level of energy that reminded me the films of Robert Rodriguez. Loved the hand-to-hand armor suit combat, the Latino flavor, the family dynamic and the score.

Just rewatching my favorite film of the year, PAST LIVES. Such a beautiful, poetic and moving story with a perfect dose of melancholia, romance and emotions.

I might be in the minority but I was a lot more invested in the *featherweight* Aliens-Underwater hybrid of the first half than the Piranha 3D doppelgänger that ends up being the final act. Overall this was superior to the first Meg and it was exactly what I paid for.

I don't know what to say, I'm quite surprised. It feels like Ben Wheatley understood the assignment to me. Let's keep in mind MEG 2: THE TRENCH has giant issues (the size of a megalodon) and yet I was on board with this campy shark-eating-humans underwater thrill ride for the most parts.
