The idea that it serves the long-term interests of our country to keep things OPEN as they currently are is also laughable.
It's shortsighted, and it gives a group of people who wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire exactly what they wanted. You're letting them take advantage of you.

The idea that your Republican colleagues would ever do this in the reverse is laughable. They steal SCOTUS seats, enable the richest man in the world (who's not American) to rip apart institutions that Americans rely on, and enable a convicted felon to ignore our constitution and act like he's king.
