That's fair, although there's also the potential for CL teams to do Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday, which would be heavy going. I just feel like the difference between the two is so minor. But you're right about PL preparation time.

But you still get two days and three days rest periods each week. If you play CL on Wednesday, your next game needs to be Saturday because your next CL game will be Tuesday. Three days and two days rest. Sometimes you might get a Tuesday to Sunday break, but the impact would be marginal.

It also bugs me when people talk about the "punishing schedule" of Thursday-Sunday games for Europa League teams, as if Wednesday-Saturday is somehow easier.
