Engineering @ TLDR (the newsletter) | building AdKiit.com
I was advised to get rid of my lowest price tier.

It felt counterintuitive at first, but the truth is most founders price too low. Lower tiers often attract the wrong customers and make it harder to grow.

Still learning to have the courage to charge what the product is worth.

Custom events about to drop in AdKiit. Why?
→ Not every subscriber is valuable
→ Ads need quality signals
→ the AdKiit rule builder lets you define what “quality” means (opens, clicks, days subscribed, open rate, etc)
More control. Better ROAS.

One of the biggest unlocks for
@tldrnewsletter
ads was going server-side (Meta CAPI).
Better tracking, smarter optimization, more growth.
I turned that exact setup into a product → adkiit.com #buildinpublic

Now that I’ve built and launched AdKiit.com and entered the sales/marketing phase my camera roll is littered with screenshots of ads. #buildinpublic

Getting the first customers for AdKiit.com felt like a huge win. But the high quickly faded when I realized… it wasn’t nearly enough.

Newsletter creators: relying on client-side pixels alone limits your ad performance.
That’s why I launched AdKiit, a conversion API integration that makes your tracking more accurate and effective

Was making a useUser() call on my landing page nav 🤦‍♂️ just split into a PublicTopNavigation that has zero auth calls. Fewer requests 👌🏼#BuildInPublic

As much as I love to code and build products, my first love had always been getting behind the kit

the #supabase cli is a dream to work with. Running SQL migrations on a local container and pushing them to prod can't get any easier

This first SaaS I created failed.

And it wasn’t because the product sucked.

I was asked to join two non technical founders. Great!

What went wrong? every week there was a new vision, idea, direction.

There was no focus and no conviction in our product. It failed because it lacked leadership.

Custom React hooks are a game changer! Here are 3 powerful use cases:
1️⃣ Data fetching & API calls
2️⃣ Managing user state (e.g., authentication)
3️⃣ Tracking generic behavior (e.g., scroll % or window size)

What’s your favorite custom hook use case? #react
