Most importantly, he stood by me during my toughest times. He shines as a father, a husband, and a man of integrity. Happy Birthday, Stéphane.

This trait shone brightest when he leveraged his wits to obtain over a thousand liters of milk through a points system. He did it because the math represented the supreme value. He marries his actions to his words.

Our father—a mountain of a man with the build of Obelix—ensured he received every piece promised. Stéphane expected fairness then, and he expects it now. Stéphane applies that same rigour to everything he does.

Stéphane showed fierce independence, picking up every shift available and grinding to earn his way. He understood economic value and the art of "trading up" long before we accessed meaningful money. I remember when an adult tried to shortchange him on a Lego set transaction.

Even the film industry recognizes his presence; they have found him, and continue to find him, perfect for on-screen appearances due to his distinguished look. We absorbed a strong ethic of hard work early on.

He inspires me to expand my own horizons. I learned Spanish specifically to match his linguistic skills. He combines the solitary focus of a bibliophile with the warmth of a social butterfly, keeping rich connections with friends worldwide.

He deeply yearns for a better world. He envisions a society that places a higher value on human life—both for current and future generations—than the structures we see today. We share this "mind-meld" regarding politics and our hope for the future.

He partners with his amazing wife, Marta, and together they raise their children, Quim and Ferran and Cèlia. He currently focuses on full-time parenting, a role he balances with his civic duty serving the community as Vice Chair of the Municipal Board.

He reigns as the family giant, fulfilling the meaning of his name, "The Crowned One," by standing taller than us all. He surrounds himself with greatness.

​We remember and thank all who have served: those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, the veterans who carry the costs of their service, the families who supported them, and those in the Canadian Armed Forces who protect us today.

That composure is what led him to win first place in his division. Next month, he'll compete for the first time in a main category against a much larger pool of players.
