I understand your take on this, im the same way as someone who grew up playing StarFox on the Nintendo 64.
Like the game looks beautiful, the characters are colorful, I want this game to also succeed. But at the same time; their not Slippy, Fox, Falcons, or even Peppy. It just feels off to me.
