We should go back the higher marginal tax rates we had in the decades before the Reagan cuts in the 1980s when the marginal rates were in the 50 to 80% range, but that is unlikely to happen.

Given the 16th Amendment to the constitution states that the federal government can tax income from the whatever sources derived and nothing else, a wealth tax would likely be ruled unconstitutional.
