Most countries use a proper term for people from the U.S.—like estadunidense in Brazil—because America is a whole continent. Funny how the only place that ignores that is the U.S. itself. Says a lot.

It’s cute how some people think ‘America’ only means the U.S., when the name actually comes from Amerigo Vespucci, who explored South America—not your backyard. The continent was named before your country even existed. But don’t let a few centuries of history get in the way of your national branding
