This might be a contender for my most obscure coaster credit so far.

A small alpine coaster in a park in Kunming.

And suddenly new home automation dashboard inspiration appeared.

Oh cool, they have these ropey "platform screen doors" here in Kunming. I only saw these in Japan before now.

It amazes me that after all this time, the #Sonos app is still utter garbage :(

I just want to play some music and not do this whole 10-minute device dance every day.

Got a case printed and spent some time cleaning up the UI.

It was tricky to find good large font for embedded_graphics.

Also had some trouble implementing the simulator for embedded_graphics, so did it the old-fashioned way with lots of recompiles to the ESP32-C3 inside.

Ok, this might actually just work. Need to adjust some snap-fit hooks, and figure out how I'll support/clamp the breadboard, but the idea is they fit together, where the bottom of the insert fixes the display in place (display top is fixed behind a support).

I've got the hardware (ESP32-C3, E-ink display and Co2 sensor), and some of the firmware (Rust!).

Now it's time to fit it into an enclosure. I haven't used CAD in ages and my little monkey brain just can't comprehend how it should all fit together. But I'm making progress.

Ran out of Kimchi a few weeks ago, time to make a new batch, from the one true recipe, of course ( www.maangchi.com/recipe/tongb... ).

Should last me a month or three, hopefully!

I did manage to get the E-ink display to show the Co2 sensor values!

Okay, got the sensor attached and the ESP32 running Rust firmware to log the co2 values.

Now to draw the rest of the owl.
