What's incredible is that the Trump appointee was right on the law and absolutely trashed DOJ, while the Reagan appointee wrote... whatever this is.

Whether it’s Jordan Lasker, a Nazi NYT source, not being identified as such by NYT editors or Jamelle Bouie pointing out that newspapers should rightly identify when newspaper sources are Nazis, both sides have made newsworthy errors.

I think that's an academic question. The bottom line is that the courts, apparently, have no power to compel anything at the end of that slow and stately judicial process based on caselaw and rules and the "rule of law."

So let's say the govt "facilitates" their right to seek habeas. And let's say the court then says they were deported in violation of their DP rights. And let's say that is upheld on appeal and upheld by SCT. And let's say that they haven't died of disease or old age by then.

Then what?

The courts are incapable of dealing with this.
