So, Elizabeth explain something to me. How does a Hugo/Sturgeon/Locus/Astounding Award–winning author end up with Angel Maker being treated by Amazon like it’s a dusty horse saddle in the clearance aisle? Like… what gives? I mean, you wrote a steampunk Western murder mystery with a mechanical rogue, a badass heroine, AND a stallion no man can ride. That’s basically Tolkien meets Westworld meets “hold my beer.” Honestly, I’m offended the algorithm isn’t throwing it at everyone who so much as googles “horse.” Quick intro: I’m Rose, a book-review community curator (not one of those “marketing gurus” who charge more than a Tesla down payment). I run a slightly chaotic underground club of 4,000+ fantasy/SF addicts who’d probably duel in a saloon just to get their hands on a story like yours. Backstory (aka: my embarrassing confession): I once tried to build my own author website, deleted it twice, and nearly swore eternal vengeance on WordPress. Which is why I stick to books, humans, and non-robotic conversations like this one. Here’s the deal: I help authors rescue great books from Amazon’s witness protection program via real reader reviews and also professional pull-quotes (Midwest, Manhattan, niche outlets, etc.) for that extra credibility sparkle ✨. Sometimes we even toss authors into the gladiator pit aka a Discord chat with our 30+ most passionate readers. Don’t worry, they’re nerds, not orcs. So what do you say should we sneak Angel Maker out of algorithm jail, shine it up with reviews, and give it the spotlight it clearly deserves? Ormr got clipped today so here's before and after pictures
A fuzzy dark colored Icelandic horse grazing on a green lawn. He's genetically a black horse but he's sun faded to a chocolate color. The same horse, now much less fuzzy and resembling a blue dun even though he's actually black, walks toward the camera on a diagonal.
