I remember moving to a rented flat that had a mixer tap over the bath and I was furious I hadn’t realised I wouldn’t be able to use one of these before I agreed to move in.

I used to work in a Catholic school where at the end of each day we said a prayer with our classes before we went home. “Dear Lord, thank you for our many blessings today. Help us strive for the best in ourselves, always.”
It was a lovely end to the day. It was nice to read this and be reminded.

Yes, there’s a company who organise Chinese trips to UK schools, and they invited us to a return visit as a thank you for hosting over the past couple of years.

Back in the last century, when GCSEs were brand new, we were encouraged to choose just one science! I chose Chemistry. I didn’t choose physics because the teacher was a bit pervy. Biology wouldn’t have crossed my mind. Wish I’d done all three!

With this and the possible removal of EBacc, I feel there’s a significant curriculum model overhaul incoming.

…International flights, 4* hotels in Beijing, Hai’an, Nantong and Shanghai, all food (which was incredible), bullet train/coach and all attractions including Forbidden City and Great Wall. We visited six schools who were incredible hosts. Looking forward to hosting them on the return visits (2/2).

That was like the error we made by going to Sri Lanka over Easter. 3 days of no alcohol allowed - New Moon, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
