We designed the census particularly for a NA context. We recognize this is not ideal, but it would have been impossible given the constraints to design an adequately thorough survey for Classics on a global level.

Hi Mark-I'm a member of the Data Committee and one of the primary architects of the census. As a queer person myself, I'm particularly sorry we made this exasperating mistake. I hope you can trust that we are just a group of overworked volunteers who care very much and will learn for our mistakes!
