We recently issued certificates without exams.

It's odd that so many certifications seem to be based on anxiety-inducing high-stakes exams that can be passed with good memorization.

Here's how we do things differently —

The best way to use AI in education is to change the curriculum.

❌ AI shouldn’t do the work for students.
✅ AI should help students learn how to do the work (or do it better).
✅ And sometimes, students should do the work independently.

It's kind of creepy when a company tracks you like this.
But it's ATARI who created my best childhood friend (the 2600), so I forgive them 😊

One of the biggest benefits that educational technology can provide is ... time.

When done right, ed tech can reduce the amount of time needed to learn and master a concept. And give students more reps to quickly build cognitive muscle memory.

Teachers also gain time to focus on student success.

Who cares?

Who cares about ethics?
Who cares about grades?
Who cares about accuracy?
Who cares about leadership?
Who cares about attendance?
Who cares about responsibility?
Who cares that AI does the work?

Want students to care? Give them personal relevance and real-world context.

A few years ago I invented a plastic toy that makes building Hot Wheels tracks more fun.

Occasionally, I get feedback that my TrackJack is too expensive.

Here's what it really cost me to invent a $30 toy ...

Let's say you've designed a fun competition for your students.

When it comes time to reveal the leaderboard or final results, make a show of it.

I'll show you one example of a big reveal method in this video — and my favorite music to play.

I design games but I don't play games with pricing for my customers.
No fabricated urgency. No fake scarcity.
Just a fair and affordable price.
Buy today or next week.
Buy 1 or 1,000.
Same price.

To adopt new innovations, you have to want to WIN more than you fear being temporarily inconvenienced by trying something different.

Download our helpful worksheet to design your own game. Even if you never publish and sell a game, the journey is interesting and helps you build amazing skills. It's also a great STEAM activity for students.

Skills pay the bills.

Credentials may open the door but skills pay the bills.

Textbooks, Lectures, Videos, and Quizzes don't build skills.

They can all "enhance" skills.
But only "doing" builds skills.
Experiential learning builds skills.

Build skills. Pay the bills.
