I said goodbye to my car a year ago. I don’t miss it.
I liked having the car, but it was far from a necessity. Here’s how I’ve gotten around without the car in the year since I watched it get taken away by a tow truck.

Don’t forget, for many years #Uber insisted loudly that it would reduce traffic in cities. Instead, Uber drivers cruise without passengers 40% of the time. Uber and Lyft no longer claim they reduce traffic. They now admit they increase congestion.

So much for “making cities better…”

If you're wondering what's going on in the capital city, I had an eye exam today and the doctor told me she's seeing a lot of patients who are coming in because they are worried they are going to lose their insurance soon.

I told you all @jeffbezos was feral. He’s now killed the Graham/Bradlee legacy of justice, the First Amendment and basic humanity in a vomitous spew of nonsense, testosterone fueled (and HGH) double talk that is more than a little pathetic and utterly shameless.

Harvard Magazine's new cover story delves into road safety.

I explained the fallacy of blaming individuals for crashes:

Americans “blame individuals for what really are systemic & societal problems...road users are just going about their daily business. It’s not their job to build a safe system.”

How do you get groceries without a car?!? I keep this small cart at work and went to the Trader Joe’s near my office, then got on Metro across the street.

Today I had to rent a ZipCar and drive on the Beltway to get to a work event in Annandale. It reminded me how lucky I am to live in a place where I can easily be car free and that most of my local travel is by walking, bike, bus or subway.
