For people who claim to be ultra-patriots, it's striking how much damage the likes of #Farage and #Truss have done to the UK economy with their championing of #Brexit and #Trump. One might be forgiven for assuming they despised the UK and wished to see it fail.

Right-wingers like #Trump, #Truss and my local MP #ChrisPhilp confuse me. On one hand, they talk about wanting people to 'have a better work ethic,' implying that benefit-recipients are 'lazy'. On the other hand, they're also the first to scorn any attempt to hire disabled workers as 'woke' DEI.

Shame on #PresidentTrump for politicising the Potomac air tragedy (by blaming DEI), especially before all the lives of all the people involved have been accounted for.

If ever there was a time for the President to say as little as possible, other than offering sincere condolences, this was it.

RIP #JimmyCarter.

A truly decent man who arguably achieved more post-Presidency than many of his peers achieved in office.

In view of the current state of the world, it's particularly sobering to lose a compassionate, thoughtful, intelligent former world leader.

My condolances to #KeirStarmer whose brother, Nick, died yesterday.

I hope Keir's privacy will be respected, and I understand why he refrained from speaking about Nick in public.

I also hope as we enter 2025, the government and society as a whole, will endeavour to do better for disabled people.
