While I love a good grind, and will allow for it, I really want the purpose to be more about the exploration and discovery. Why did the ship crash, what knowledge and technology did we lose, what kind of creatures live on the planet, and how can the lost colony learn from it all.

While I love a good grind, and will allow for it, I really want the purpose to be more about the exploration and discovery. Why did the ship crash, what knowledge and technology did we lose, what kind of creatures live on the planet, and how can the lost colony learn from it all.
Mitigating environmental hazards is more important than in classic RPGs, and defeating hostile creatures can be done without killing them, they can also be charmed or frightened if you learn how.

Gameplay wise, it's structured like a classic turn based RPG, but with more of a survival twist. HP and healing is kept low, stat growth is more about finding ingredients and knowledge and crafting better armor / developing Nano Commands (basically, spells)

You play as a group called "Reclaimers" tasked with the specific purpose to go in and explore, secure, and salvage as much as possible. You start with all 6 party members, each with their own expertise. Each has their own useful exploration skill, for example.

Thank you for your interest. The story takes place centuries after the colony ship carrier crashed, some ships beached and that's what the survivors built around. The Wreckage is still mostly underwater and unexplored, and there are often missions to go in to salvage equipment.

The Strega is the oldest of the pantheon and has easily survived countless "ends". They are a hunter that seeks to become stronger than the Universe itself so that one day they can be the one to consume it.
