It's so bad that there is a possible future -- also in our lifetimes -- where a President wins election with 25% of the vote and controls 65 votes in the Senate.
Whatever negative thoughts you had about the Senate, you don't hate it anywhere near enough.

You can't have a country as rich as ours and expect people to be happy when we drive around killing/maiming each other all day, every day -- and spend $5 trillion a year for the privilege.

At the extreme end, there are dozens of on-air personalities in major TV markets across the U.S. who openly express their lack of concern for pedestrians, and their open dislike of people on bikes.

I'm willing to accept there's no financial incentive. But "windshield bias" in news is an entire category of media criticism for a reason: Many editors and reporters are biased toward drivers, because they identify more with violent drivers than their victims. tsr.international/TSR/article/...
