Thoughts on how much of this could be explained by English skills? Seems like the first barrier to any type of publication for non-native speakers and scholars

Yeah, many are way too short still - I think the EU has a minimum threshold of 5 seconds but those can still be short especially on busy intersections around VSE where ISPP is

As the last photo shows, this is a decidedly Czech institution, inclusive of the heavily subsidized buffet restaurant for employees and visiting researchers :)
