Scanning the extraordinary King's Oak @blenheimpalace.bsky.social pretty serious interventions over time with guys, concrete etc. But how do you leave a permanent record so that someone 150 years from now will know what was done? Digital, paper etc no good? Oral history? Steel plate?

Another day, another lovely forest. This time an 'accidental' natural regen woodland experiment, Monk's Wood. 60 years post abandonment of arable it's predominatly oak and hawthorn (see 10.1371/journal.pone.0252466)
