My idea for the “reverse particle laser” for my Terraria mod is to have it work similarly to the Life Drain/Vampire Knives.
Essentially, the weapon will heal you when used and inflict a “digitized” debuff on the enemy that slows it down and overlays a semi-transparent grid.
