It was very cringey hearing the attorney fumbling to answer this. But later on, when the a different attorney from plaintiffs discussed irreparable harms, they specially mentioned institutions that house primates and the increased costs associated with their care etc. so overall it came through.

Cutting overheard funds without changing the complex landscape of regulations biomedical labs have to abide by in order to perform research is a clear indication that this is not about reform. It’s punitive. By the way, regulations are important to ensure ethical and safe practices.

Yes! I haven’t seen people make this point enough. Biotech should be lobbying hard to protect academic science right now. They also have a better chance to leverage the argument of the economic impact this will have to republicans in congress.
