Me on the flip side of the year in 1997. A summer solstice photo from a conference trip, when they let a bunch of archaeologists loose into #Stonehenge and we didn't need dress in flowing robes either. Walked up the avenue approach mostly running to coincide with sunset #standingStoneSunday 📸 my own

I raise you the view from rather small entrance passage and the magnificent view from Cuween across towards the Ness of Brodgar. #TombTuesday 📸 my own

Was such a beautiful but brief end to the day at 3:30 pm in Scotland! Then you realise so much dark at this time of the year, just as well we get nature's light show to keep us going. #Scotland

Standing stone above Fairlie, North Ayrshire at Diamond hill. Intriguing name may relate to globular quartz inclusions in rock. Close proximity to cup ring panel of rock art. Check out Canmore for more details and wider landscape context canmore.org.uk/site/41223/d...

Currently tootling about my area. The gritter crews in Scotland all have fun names. Sweet Child O'brien is just brilliant! Check them out www.traffic.gov.scot/gritter-trac...

Well all this rain has at least let me see how Mid Buiston loch and it's crannog, might have fitted into the landscape at one time. #Archaeology
