It was definitely one of the hard parts to write.

The Centre Test imposition was only there to remind him that his life did not matter beyond what he could achieve, and his potential future achievements were not going to matter unless they satisfied societal norms. Unless he decided to try pro volleyball and made it into the V league, it did not matter that he became a better player. As long as his future job was not presentable to their relatives, it did not count as one. If he did not make enough money two years after graduation from uni, he could not be a professional at anything. He loathed the “We're not doing this out of enmity or rage, we wouldn't care about the neighbour's son studying or partying,” speech. It came every time and made him realize that his parents took him for an idiot. He did not think his parents were his enemies at 10, and neither did he at almost 18. It was a kind of gaslighting, as though only enemies would hurt him, or do him wrong. It suggested that the only reason he disagreed with his parents could be having misread their intentions.

It was the most brutal thing he had ever experienced. He sat up in his bed, his pained face even more cruel than the voice, the warm eyes looking at Kuroo egregious, the tears falling from them the most vicious of all.

He was truly nervous, but it did not stop him from rubbing his thumb over Takanobu's palm, in front of everyone like he had said on the phone. "Tch," came from Kenji, loud for the whole locker room to hear, "Oh our ace is so strong, he can even give the big and mighty Aone boo-boo!" In addition to his usual competitveness, Kenji had somehow taken that last score personally, in a different way from Takanobu, but still personal. Letting go of Takanobu's hand to get back to undressing, Asahi san let his fingers take a good measure of Takanobu's hand while part of their teams were bickering about strength. It felt like a revenge for Takanobu's birthday party where he had traced over Asahi san's chest and torso before letting his hand fall. The shameless ace, though, was grinning with too much satisfaction after letting go.

Ever wondered why Kurokawa always has this haunted look? I believe Tashiro was supposed to be the sacrificial one when he was a first year, and through some trickery Kurokawa managed to replace him with another crow and save Tashiro. To this day, he doesn't suspect a thing.

I grew up in a city famous for persimmons (and mulberry). Ours are smaller, a darker orange, and ripened they're so soft you practically get jelly. Living far away, I miss watching all the seasons of the tree.
My father's hometown is famous for peach and green grapes🤣
Love that the tree has 3 left.
