After waiting 4 weeks for Standesamt to get back to me to give me an appointment for changing my gender marker, i finally heard from them:

That in the meantime they finally made an online form for that and that I should start my request again there...

6. Application to gender recognition from video In addition to the face recognition problem, we also applied our methodology to investigate another challenging problem which is spatiotemporal-based gender recognition from videos. The aim is to determine whether the person whose face is in the given video is a man or a woman. *Determining such information is useful for many applications* such as more affective HCI, *restricting access to certain areas based on gender*, collecting demographic information in public places, counting the number of women entering a retail store and 50 on. To the best of our knowledge, no work has yet addressed the combination of face appearance and facial dynamics to gender classification.

Introduction *From the surveillance perspective*, gait pattern biometrics is appealing for its possibility of being performed at a distance and without body-invasive equipment or subject’s cooperation. *This allows data acquisition without a subject’s consent.* As the data are collected with high participation rate and surveilled subjects are not expected to claim their identities, the trait is preferably employed for identification rather than for authentication.
