I do normally agree with this assessment. However, there are differences. First being it’s not really a riot. It is operating more like an organic rising. There is focus in this. Unlike rioting. Now perhaps I am just being naïve .

I do not agree with the death penalty at all. But I do know that in cases of 1st degree murder, seeking the death penalty is not unusual. But that is the decision of a jury. They can opt for a different penalty.
