'Success' in the eyes of modern society does not always lead to happiness and contentment. In fact, happiness and contentment are the quintessence of success.
Play by your own rules.

Thank you my friend!
On a slightly more serious note, I've led a very happy and contented life so far, without any particularly discernible 'achievements' (and with a bit of life's tragedy along the way). Appreciate the simple things, my dudes.

When I left school, I still held the 800 metres record that I had set when I was 13.
I have absolutely no way of making this in the slightest bit relevant to the point being made. I just saw an opportunity to put it out there 😁

Ouch! (I don't disagree).

Is there a more spineless chancer on the planet than Marco Rubio!? Kind of bloke that would sell out his gran if he thought it'd get him ahead.

Subtle but effective questioning. He's just very gently got her to take full responsibility. And she's too bloody daft to realise it.

Very true, but I wasn't really talking about the likelihood of him ending up in a position of power. And let's be honest, given the early days of this new party, that ain't gonna happen! It's just my opinion on the perception of the man, in contrast to who I think he really is.

Very true!

There's a long way to go before the next election and the councils they're controlling seem to be falling to bits. I think they might have been found out by 2028.

The Greens will fall apart on foreign policy when the spotlight is really on them. If you consider what has happened to Ukraine post the Budapest Memorandum, the non-proliferation argument is dead in the water. For now. That and their luke warm stance on NATO is gonna really hurt them.

Agreed. To generalise, the UK electorate are centre/centre left in terms of policy preference. Which was borne out in the last general election results. A big win for Labour, big gains for the Lib Dems and some momentum for the Greens. Next time out, it'll all hang on tactical voting.

The mad thing is, the conversation had nothing to do with the trans debate. Nothing whatsoever. I avoid the topic too, despite having some skin in the game with a family member. Somebody just decided to USE it as a ridiculous accusation because I had the gall to not completely agree with them.
November 30, 2025 at 12:15 AM
It certainly seems that way. It's possible the next election is the first time I don't even bother.
November 30, 2025 at 12:02 AM
And yet you still voted for them after that. Twice! 🤷‍♂️
November 30, 2025 at 12:00 AM
I can understand that. Still, the last time I voted for the Lib Dems, they went on to blow the 'alternative vote' campaign, do a 180 on their tuition fees promise, and prop up a tory austerity government. Before Clegg ran off to work for the tech bros. I wonder why we bother!

The support for Farage is one thing, but the double standards in use of the term 'antisemitism' says a hell of a lot about him. And none of it is good!

This is gonna be the gift that keeps on giving. Everybody should just sit back, put the kettle on, and break out the digestives.
November 29, 2025 at 8:20 PM
I agree, but the frustrating thing is, I think it's wilful ignorance! All the facts are out there. And they're not difficult to find, are they.
