I was just in Virginia and went to the Yorktown Historic Battlefield which is part of NPS. I overheard a ranger saying she's afraid for her job. She hopes they won't fire her and her co-workers but she just has to keep coming each day. They put on great programs and had lots of knowledge to share.

Making an effort to read more- I just have the hardest time focusing on reading. Audio books just turn into background noise. Anyway here is what I'm reading: Invisible Women-Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Perez. It's on audible but I rented the ebook from Cincy Library.

In other news we got approved to bring home a puppy who we hosted over the holidays. I've always wanted a dog who stuck their tongue out while sleeping. He is 8 months old. He and his siblings get overlooked because they appear to have some pittie breeds in their genetics. #dog

The house is so empty without both of them. It's been about 6 months since we said goodbye to Miss America. Hopefully she has greeted her sister Rhaegal. This photo was a rare moment where they could be close to each other.

This was one of those hottest days of the year where I made her walk me around the park. She had never really been trained for leash walking but I taught her and she became such a great walking buddy.

This is how my dog spent her last days. I tried to pet her as much as I could but she went without so many kisses. I hope she knows how much I loved her.
