Save for the outliers on both ends of the spectrum, most of us want the same things. Happiness, prosperity, health, a bright future for our children. But, somehow, we can’t have a civil conversation about those things because we ‘have’ to be on opposite sides.

Some have families to think about, in addition to the fact that if they refuse, they can be court-martialed and sent to the brig with a much different due process than a civilian would get. They’re trying to keep their jobs while staying out of jail. It’s not as easy as just refusing.
