This is another "Take your child to work day" lab demo. It is a bench top experiment with salt water (conducting fluid), magnet, and an electric field. This was inspired by the Red October movie's Magnetohydrodynamic drive.

This turned out to be a nice photo of a portion of a "science" display for Take Your Child to Work Day. It's a simple ferrofluid with a magnet below the dish.

Not a great photo but it is interesting. This is a Chickadee. Mostly white due to Leucism. It was quite striking and hung around my home for 3 years.
