Microsoft has officially acknowledged the incorrect End of Support message issue.

They published a workaround to address the issue using Known Issue Rollback (KIR). However, we recommend waiting until November 11 for Windows Update to resolve it.

As of October 14, 2025, Office 2016 and 2019 have reached their end-of-life. 🕯️
You can change your installed Office edition to 2021/2024 or O365 using the "Change Office Edition" option in MAS.

Resolution: After thorough investigation, Microsoft has found no connection between the August 2025 Windows security update and the types of hard drive failures reported on social media.
