Great book on the #NoDAPL and the struggle for indigenous liberation

Mass Firearms School is definitely recommended if the wait time for the comrade center is too long for you. It's generally an apolitical environment as they make a-lot of money off the volume of classes they do.

It's also a great place to try before you buy for handguns.

Now the difficult part, interacting with the cops.

You will need to go for an in-person 'interview' at your local police department to go over your paperwork, identity and to take your photo and fingerprints.

If approved, you will receive your license in 8-20 weeks in the mail.

A valid MA state ID

Must be a current resident of MA to receive a resident LTC valid for 5 years

If you're a vulnerable/minority individual, we recommend that you seek out a class from our partner at the Comrade Center.

The application fee

For an FID, applicants under 18 pay $100 and this over 18 pay $25.

For an LTC, all applicants which is limited to those over 21, pay $100

Complete a firearms license application.

This form can be either found from the state government website or your local police department.

Specifics are not needed on your application, but you should be truthful in anything the cops may come across in your background check.
February 3, 2025 at 2:32 PM
So how do you get a license? This process is the same for both a FID and LTC.

1) Complete a firearms license application
2) Application fee ($100)
3) Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course Certification (Original, not a copy)
4) Valid MA State ID
February 3, 2025 at 2:32 PM
You have two options...

FID: Firearm Identification Card allows the holder to possess non-large capacity shotguns and rifles (no AR-15s or semi-autos capable of holding 10+ rounds).

LTC: License To Carry allows the holder to possess all of the above including handguns, and large capacity rifles.

One of the biggest things about being a resident in Massachusetts is following our archaic laws to protect yourself and others around you, especially if you're a minority.

In MA, it is REQUIRED for you to hold a valid firearms license to possess or carry any firearms in MA including ammo.

• Expanding range access. We will continue to coordinate with our individual members to gain more access to ranges in the state so we can sharpen our skills on and off the range.

We must prioritize community over individualism. We must be organized in the face of fascism if we're to prevail. ✊
