I remember as a kid my Dad would turn on the Local News at 6pm, and “The National” with Peter Mansbridge at 11pm. We trusted these people to give us that facts and let us be intelligent enough to form our own opinion.
Now, news = entertainment. And nothing is more entertaining than a good lie.

If I could go back in time and change one thing it would be to stop the rise of cable news. In a normal day not enough of importance happens to fill 24 hours of constant coverage. So now, everything is “Breaking News”. Nothing is valued because trivia and opinions are treated as news. 1/2

The problem with American politics is that even your Democratic Party officials are “conservatives”. You have a few true liberal politicians, but they are few and far between.
In Canada, a politician like Mandami is considered a centrist, maybe slightly left leaning. In the US he is Satan.

To qualify as a “pick-up” or work truck, it should be required to have a single bench seat, AM radio, and able to haul 2 boats and a house in the bed.

I was pissed at her for reigning in AOC in the early days, figuring it was establishment protecting establishment. But under her mentoriship AOC has become a force of nature and a true successor to the Pelosi legacy.
