I don't think anyone will see this cause i'm blocked now (classy play) but that misogynoir must be hitting different for y'all cause this was a wild use of your time and platform.

Like: why start this shit by directly attacking another journalist with a really bad faith read on an objectively true sentiment that freelance writers are being exploited and should be part of demanding more for their work? I'm genuinely curious why you thought that was the play?

Am I? What are we talking about? Rates for freelance writers, no? I feel like you moved the goal post from the jump by implying Gita was attacking an individual in saying it's best if freelance writers demand more for their work than $30

Cool, that's totally not a fucked up thing to expect a person to produce on a weekly basis. Sounds super sustainable for the lives of freelance games writers. Sorry, I just didn't realize what a great rate $30 was for an article. Damn, It really is fucked up to ask for more. My bad my bad my bad.

You might want to look into this Marx guy. He wrote a book about this stuff but long story short: your labor has intrinsic value. By equating what a worker is owed for their labor to random charity is an extremely harmful state of mind to internalize.

Lol, I've actually been homeless before; have you? Calling $30 the equivalent of "a decent meal" implies you have not. Also: no one was talking about eating. Y'all are literally throwing the word homeless around as if $30 is even a drop in the bucket for someone trying to pay rent+bills? Dishonest.

Dishonest take. Guess what's not going to save you from homelessness: $30 rates for an article. Saying people should demand what they're worth is not a bad take in anyway shape or form. Pretending like taking a $30 rate for an article saved someone from destitution is absurd so please stop it.
