The only thing I ever bought from a comic book ad—besides Sea Monkeys—was this: a Lincoln-Kennedy Penny. This is how we entertained ourselves with conspiracy theories before social media took over. Just thought it might give you a laugh. Enjoy!

The Japanese Village and Deer Park was a Japanese-themed amusement park in Buena Park, California that operated from 1967 to 1975. It featured traditional Japanese buildings, shows, and a deer park inspired by Nara Park in Japan. The Asner family enjoying the park.

Adolescence on Netflix is simply amazing. Raw,Real, Brave, heartbreaking television. My highest recommendation. Must watch.

15 years ago my father and I went to the Oscars and had a hell of a time. UP! Won best animated film and score and was nominated for Best Picture. It was a wonderful experience for both of us. My dad loved getting a rise out of people.

If you have never had the treat of watching Gene Hackman act, do yourself a favor and use this tragic news to look at his largely brilliant work as an actor. From The Conversation and Bonnie and Clyde to The French Connection and Unforgiven. He was a master.

I am heartbroken. My dear friend and my father’s best friend, Peter Jason, passed away today. What a loss He was truly one of the sweetest people on the planet. My heart goes out to his wife and daughter. Peter, I hope you and my dad are up there laughing your asses off.

Just heard Rick Buckler, The drummer of The Jam, passed away. they were one of my favorite bands as a teen. They were also the loudest band I have ever seen in concert. When I saw them at Santa Monica Civic in 1980 the sound system lost power for about 3 seconds. What a shock. RIP

Happy heavenly birthday to my dear mother, who would have been 95 today. You are so missed. I hope that wherever you are, you are walking on a beach with all of your dogs and enjoying a martini.

How I miss this face. Probably my favorite picture of him.

Over the past few days, many have seen a familiar face on their TVs, offering comfort in the best way he can. My friends and I grew up with Anthony Marrone.

My sister, Katie, found this incredible letter from my mom to my dad. They were obviously at a point where they had to make big decisions. In their life together. My mom lays it out here like the agent she was telling him he has to be on TV.

He will forever be thought of as the most respected ex-President in history. A label to be proud of. May his memory forever be a blessing. RIP Jimmy Carter.

Had the good fortune to meet a baseball idol while filming Season of The Samurai. Rickey Henderson, who I grew up watching steal bases for The A’s, was the manager of The San Diego Surf Dawgs. I could tell that he had a great sense of fun in whatever he did. RIP Rickey Henderson.

In the winter of 1991, I took my father to a Kings game. My friend Greg Fine, who worked as Jerry Buss’ assistant, always managed to get us seats in the owner’s box at The Forum.

Photo of the day- a drawing from a six year old Haley Joel Osment to my father. They did a show called Thunder Alley together. The scenes with the two of them together were magic.

My father received this collage in his second or third year at The MTM show. It was in his dressing room from that moment on and now hangs on the walls of The Ed Asner Family Center.
