Also your profile says you're a fellow industry professional, so I just want to say "you're welcome!" for explaining your own industry to you. 🫣

Thank you for the reminder. I was feeling a little too safe for a moment there, and that's how it creeps in.

< myself contemplating applying to some companies I have been avoiding for moral reasons. It's extremely difficult to choose between feeding your family or upholding your values if you get desperate enough.

So no, I take back my initial reaction. I agree with you. This is so, so bad.

She is home now and struggling a bit with her meds, new food, and energy levels.

Her kidneys show some degradation, hopefully just from the dehydration + inflammation. 🤞 Retesting once she heals.

So glad she's going to be okay. 💕

(Also really fucking glad we have that no-limit pet insurance.)

My poor sick girl. She's in the right home, that's for sure. 💕

Omg I'm having too much fun with alt text.

Anyway, original tests showed her small intestines were dilated and pushing her colon off to the side, which looked like it had twisted. Luckily it untwisted by itself as the air trickled through, so no surgery was required. 😮‍💨 >

We rushed poor Clementine to the ER on Tuesday night with bloat. Look at her poor tummy. 😭 I expanded her harness strap by 5" and it STILL wouldn't close. 😭💔💔💔 >
