Exploring can have you lose all of your precious rosaries and force you into a loop of grinding for more.
The only worth it rewards are mask shards and spool extensions, tools are so limited in their use they HAVE to be super good or else you won't use em. Or a quest item for a guy you don't know!

I'm like (late?) into act 2 doing the bilewater runback and took a break upon reaching the boss.
But it feels like team cherry messed up the risk/reward matrix for exploring in this game. Exploring can have you sit on a bench after a slog which means both ways are hard to return.

Something interesting I've been experiencing is content that you would get by say beelining to the end of each act is relatively on par with itself both platforming and boss fights, but the moment you explore out of that you get the dick smashers.

I got the issues with calculating the mental angle for the dive pogos means I either miss or always end up getting hit. But then I found the crest that is just "This is the Knights' moveset but shorter ranged" and stuck with it. Maybe some future crests will speak to me, I just got to act 2

It feels like the focus was more on the dream world cinematography cause maaaaaan that chase sequence was really cool.
It was just okay imo feels like it didn't really set up much or explain anything.

Canto 8 really feels alot more subdued than the previous ones, closer to 4 where its more focused on the characters and the tragedy of the past.
C8 really feels like every sinner has a least /a/ moment to shine and seeing the process of Hong Lu remember his heart throughout it all.
