Nah it’s just group to group, me and my friend group were the same way (still Gen Z just the DS/3DS was our era) And I had friends who didn’t know what a GameBoy was (despite the DS having a GBA port!)

This probably won’t happen. It doesn’t lineup with Sega’s trend of naming new things the same as the older, more infamous, things in the franchise. Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) overshadows Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic 4 will overshadow Sonic 4 Ep 1 and 2
