One day we “get it”, our skill suddenly increase by +10. We won a jackpot. For us, practicing is like buying lottery tickets. If we buy enough of them, we are going to win something. It is why getting used to seeing ugly art is important, because this quality gives you endless money to buy tickets.

3: Diligence gives you nothing, but no diligence gets you nowhere.
Giftless people won’t see skill points increase across practice pieces, they all look ugly. Follow a tutorial, it’s the same, we don’t get it, our art looks fake. Time and effort are money spent on lottery, we often don’t win.

2: Accept that you’re born without art gift.
If art didn’t occur to us at age 0-29, it’s clear that genetics gave us no gift. Born without gift is like born blind, it’s useless envying people with eyes. But getting drastically different ways to navigate the world is possible. It takes talent.

1: TALENT and GIFT are not the same thing.
These two get mixed together. Nobody talks about GIFT, but the issue about TALENT becomes problematic. I think I have zero gift, but some level of talent.
