I was able to get the left portion of the Soul Nebula, so this is my final version of the Soul Nebula, an emission nebula in Cassiopeia, approximately 6500 light years from Earth. #astrophotography

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this project or not. This is a 5 panel mosaic image of the right portion of the Soul Nebula. There's a whole other section off to the left of this image. #astrophotography

I’m making progress on my latest project. This is the Soul Nebula. This is currently a 4 panel mosaic and is cropped to make it as much of a rectangular FOV as possible. #astrophotography

This is my current project. This is a mosaic of the Soul Nebula. I imagine there are at least 4 more panels to go, this is only 2 so far. #astrophotography

This was last night’s observation, the Fish Head Nebula. #astrophotography

This is my current project, the Iris Nebula. I end up with about 23 hours of data over 4 nights. #astrophotography

This is my current project, the Iris Nebula. So far I have 4 hours luminance, 6 hours red, and 7 hours green data. Just for kicks I used the luminance data in place of the blue channel and this is the result. Hopefully I'll get blue data this evening. #astrophotography

Comet Lemmon last night using my Celestron EdgeHD 800 with reducer. This is 12 30-second exposures in R, G, and B Antlia filters. Acquired with NINA. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop. #astrophotography

I took this image a couple of nights ago. The bright star near the bottom left is called the Garnet Star. It is a red super giant, 4th magnitude, easily visible to the naked eye under good seeing. This area of the sky is located in the constellation Cepheus. #astrophotography

This is last night's observation. This is NGC 7822 an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus. #astrophotography

This is last night’s observation. This is called the Cygnus Wall, a 20 light year long ridge of gas and dust where star formation is occurring. #astrophotography

This was last night’s observation, the Elephant Trunk nebula. #astrophotography

I took the first picture last fall. It’s a mosaic of 4 panels of the Andromeda Galaxy. I never liked the gradient issue on the right side and was never able to get rid of it. Just for kicks I asked ChatGPT to get rid of it and the 2nd picture is the result.

This was last night's observation. This is a closeup of a portion of the Pelican Nebula This is just shy of 6 hours of data. #astrophotography

Last night’s observation, the Eagle Nebula.

Last night’s observation. This is called the Tulip Nebula, an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus approximately 6000 light years from Earth

This is last night's observation, the Crescent Nebula, NGC 6888. An emission nebula about 5000 light years from Earth.

This is a 2 panel mosaic of the Lagoon Nebula. Taken with my Celestron EdgeHD 800 and Antlia Ha, SII, and OIII (all 3nm) filters.

After about 2 months of clouds I was finally able to observe last night. This is the Trifid Nebula.

I reprocessed an old picture of the Horsehead Nebula. I don’t remember much about the details of the acquisition but this is an extreme crop to concentrate on the Horsehead, itself. This is RGB and HA. I used the HA as a luminance layer for detail.

Last night’s observation, M 13, a globular cluster in the constellation of Hercules.

I finished my Sombrero Galaxy project last night. This is a galaxy that is about 30 million light years away from Earth.

I happen to get a little solar observing done today. Here is a flare I happened to catch.
June 1, 2025 at 9:26 PM
This is my latest project. This is the Sombrero Galaxy, around 29 million light years from Earth. This is just about 3 hours of luminance data. Hopefully I’ll get a clear night soon to get the color data to add. This was taken with my Celestron EdgeHD 800 and ZWO ASI 2600 MM Pro camera.
