The storm lilies are flowering, so hopefully it means decent rain on Saturday. We have only 14days of water stored in the town dams, the rivers are too low to pump from. So its time to beg and pray to the weather gods and do a rain dance.

There's a drought in Knysna, South Africa right now. Old infrastructure, a bigger demand and lowest rainfall in decades = we are basically fucked if it doesnt rain properly, soon. Yet some carry on illegally watering garden with sprinklers. There is no enforcement of water "laws". Aargh!

This cat, recently adopted ftom local shelter, is now called Fatsy cat- cost us a small fortune at vet because we were concerned by her bloated fat round tummy, and after all tests and scans were done, the vet confirmed she is a fat little cat. Ka-ching!

Just back from a swim at our beautiful beach and found a huge.... haha. But truly, the rock formations are so beautiful, with lots of small natural tidal pools. Marked safe from genocide yet another day here in sunny south africa.

My beautiful amaryllis grown from seed! We once worked for the owner of a bulb company, and the seeds came from the plant he gave us. He said only the best are selected and the tall flowering ones are rejected! 1 out of 10000 plants is chosen for breeding to suit shops.

Tried to stay firm & calm, and hopefully that rdp house will become reality for Karin. I'm just shell shocked after my brush with S.African style officialdom today. It was so slack and felt messy and a bit hopeless all round. At one point I almost cried. But we made progress in the end!
