The bridge offered a visually stunning demonstration platform. We found joy amidst the pain with a street party- dodgers fans supporting as they drove by on the bridge and 4 hours of solidarity honking from the cars below!

from a colleague: I walked into the Greenpeace Great Lakes canvass office on July 10, 1985 as tearful colleagues pointed to newswire stories. That night, 2 or 3 people closed the door on me saying they don't support Greenpeace because 'they blow up ships'. Tom Marker played "Wooden Ships" on XRT.
