I’m looking for anyone London-based who might be able to make some copies of materials in a box at the Royal Geographical Society Archives for me. I would of course pay for the work. Please message me if you are interested or know of anyone who might be.

Just noticed that Antakya was accidentally omitted in Redhouse’s original version of the dictionary. Everyone makes mistakes 🤪

Almost got hit by a car (ran a stop sign) and then a truck (driving up the wrong side of the road) today while biking to campus. Do people not realize they are operating 2+ ton machines in dense urban areas? You can’t be silly/goofy/careless behind that kind of thing!!

Absolutely wild how many buses and bus stop in DC right now have recruitment advertisements for Border Patrol. Laying off people from places like the NEH and expecting them to pivot and join the Gestapo? Seems unlikely.

i’m always like “omg how could they!?” when i learn about banned books, religious curriculums, etc. and it’s like i somehow blacked out all of my memories of being raised in catholic schools that quite literally removed great books from the curriculum in favor of catholic fantasy (yes, it exists.)

trump’s calling his tariffs his “medicine” is akin to the medieval doctors who would cut people open and just fully bled them out to get rid of the bad spirits

It's always wrong to vandalize personal property and that certainly includes Teslas, and also: your government is actively disappearing innocent people without due process, so, you know, that second one is taking up my empathetic bandwidth at the moment.

In recent years, Judge Boasberg has:

- ordered the release of Hillary’s emails

- ensured Trump’s tax returns never became public

- restricted disclosure from the Mueller investigation

- limited disclosure of grand jury material in the Trump classified docs case.

The resistance, he ain’t.
Leavitt: This judge is a Democrat activist. He was appointed by Barack Obama

Reporter: He was originally appointed by George W. Bush and elevated by Obama. Feel I should clear that up.
