I'm celebrating books by Black authors for Black History Month. I love the horror genre, and Tananarive Due's The Good House is one of the best horror tales I've ever read. The story isn't a standard haunted house tale, believe me. If you love a good thriller, try Tananarive Due!

In celebration of Black History Month, I'm sharing some favorite books written by Black authors. I'll start with Natasha Trethewey's Memorial Drive: A Daughter's Memoir. Trethewey's experiences influence her work as an author & Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. Don't shy away from this book. Read this!

Trump has blown apart the Episcopal Migration Ministry through its grant funding termination. Episcopal churches have been resettling refugees since the 1800s. EMM was ONE of only TEN national agencies through which refugees could enter the US. Heartbreaking. Who votes for this???

Off politics for a moment, I love this show. Abbott Elementary. Quinta Brunson is brilliant, and the entire cast is perfect. So glad my daughter went to an Atlanta Public School with fun teachers like these (though the principal wasn't as hilarious as Janelle James. OK, carry on. #AbbottElementary
