Helloooo, Congress! Anybody there??? Anybody around to uphold the Constitution, or nah? No recesses or breaks until our country and our constitutional rights are secured. Oh, and you have a fistful of traitors to oust, folks tearing the Constitution to shreds, so get on it already. Sheesh.

I just want to make it clear that this Boomer was mainly marching for my daughter's & grandkids' future in this country. Yes, for Social Security, too, but mainly for education, healthcare, DEI, parks, libraries, veterans. Not all old folks were out there just for SSA and 401ks. #HandsOffAtlanta

Dear Jewish Family and Friends, now would be a great time to start using those space lasers. I trust you to choose the correct targets.

Celebrating James McBride and his novel The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store. Black & Jewish neighbors in a small PA town come together to survive & thrive. McBride's mother was Jewish & his pride in both his Black & Jewish heritage adds rich context to the book. Happy Black History Month!

I'm celebrating books by Black authors for Black History Month. I love the horror genre, and Tananarive Due's The Good House is one of the best horror tales I've ever read. The story isn't a standard haunted house tale, believe me. If you love a good thriller, try Tananarive Due!

When you piss off Caroline Kennedy, Half-pint from Little House, AND Canada, I'd say you're on the wrong side of truth, justice, and the American way. But maybe that's just me.

In celebration of Black History Month, I'm sharing some favorite books written by Black authors. I'll start with Natasha Trethewey's Memorial Drive: A Daughter's Memoir. Trethewey's experiences influence her work as an author & Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. Don't shy away from this book. Read this!

Trump has blown apart the Episcopal Migration Ministry through its grant funding termination. Episcopal churches have been resettling refugees since the 1800s. EMM was ONE of only TEN national agencies through which refugees could enter the US. Heartbreaking. Who votes for this???

Right now I think constantly throwing sand in the gears is the only hope we have. Slow this shit down. Bring it to a halt. And get creative with your passive aggression. Just whining on social media gets us nowhere. Now, grab a handful of sand . . .

A friend from Brazil alerted me to this. Deportees from US handcuffed and shackled as they travel. Is this what we've become? So glad our neighbors to the south are standing up to this inhumane treatment. www.reuters.com/world/americ...
Brazil condemns handcuffing of deportees on flight from US
Brazilian officials demanded that U.S. agents remove handcuffs from a group of deportees who were flown to the South American country on Friday, with a prominent minister in President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's government calling the practice "blatant disrespect" for the rights of his fellow citizens.

Will someone PLEASE create a list of actionable items that can help change the dire direction in which this country is headed? Don't come at me with boycotts, petitions, marches. All fine, but I don't see them really stopping this madness. We cannot just bitch on social media. Give me a list!

Off politics for a moment, I love this show. Abbott Elementary. Quinta Brunson is brilliant, and the entire cast is perfect. So glad my daughter went to an Atlanta Public School with fun teachers like these (though the principal wasn't as hilarious as Janelle James. OK, carry on. #AbbottElementary

Just a note that I'm using this site for information about arts, culture, politics, travel, etc., NOT matchmaking. Guys, I'm not available. Gals, I don't want to see any boudoir pics. Thanks, y'all, and have a great day!

Back when a little weather didn't move an inauguration inside. And for Obama's first inauguration, temps in the 20s. Last indoor inauguration was Reagan 1985. Seems we are made of sterner stuff than those of the thin-skinned party.
