I just saw part of Trump‘s speech at the United Nations. He says renewable energy and unleashed migration are ruining the world. Climate change is a hoax. Carbon footprint is a hoax. If you have a chance to listen to it, don’t have anything you don’t wanna throw in your hand!

Best thing IMHO, and from what I understand, pretty accurate depiction, in the Bruce Willis imminent meteorite impact movie Armageddon is the oil well blow out with the drill pipe shooting high up out of the hole in the very beginning of the movie.

I like “San Francisco” the 1936 Clark Gable/Spencer Tracy movie set in 1906. The earthquake itself is at the end, but the special effects are quite good.

My 6th grade teacher in 1962 read us parts of Fail Safe, the novel, & we had radio on in classroom to hear if Russian ships turned around during Cuban missile crisis. Seems totally inappropriate for 6th graders now. Took me until college to give up fear of nuclear annihilation, I could not control.

I know you are “over here not over there“ anymore, but can you post this grant opportunity over on Twitter (foreverTwitter to me)? I tried to look for it over there too, but couldn’t find it. I’m finding still a lot of scientists and societies are over there.

Smelling the print from freshly mimeographed purple copies! I felt high-tech when I learned how to correct errors when typing the masters: use a razor blade to scrape the wrong purple letter off the backside and then retype

I agree! The pre-iPhones with alphanumeric buttons allowed one to also text and dial while driving without even looking at the phone. 😬
